great instruction but would you beliede I gor to reconnected the cables and for whatever reason two would not go back on, no matter how much I tried, so had to trash the phone there must be something that i miss when reconnecting those cable. I replace cables on laptop many times never had this happen but they are a little bigger so disaippointed to get almost to the end. Thanks for the video

hey i know this video is old but its still very much relevant! Thanks for the side tips especially having a specific issue of the bottom part being a butt for not locking in place (which u solved by putting a flexible pry tool and giving a little movement to the metal chin of the phone). Thats the specific part that's so hard to look for when finding a guide for me. Finally able to revive my old phone. Thanks again!

I had my cracked screen on my iPhone 8 Plus replaced by Batteries Plus. Through several repair attempts with several replacement parts ordered (due to their mistakes) my phone still doesn’t function the same as before I brought it in to get the screen replaced. It worked PERFECTLY before. I just wanted the screen replaced because there was a jagged edge I didn’t want to cut myself on. When I got it back (in white) the first time the home button didn’t work. All they had in stock was a black home button to replace it (they said the first replacement button (white one) was defective. But the black one didn’t work either. So they ordered the part necessary to repair it. This time in white, of course. The new white one didn’t work either. They ordered it again and it works just “ok” as a home button, back button, etc. BUT! All my fingerprints I had stored are gone and when I go to Settings to setup new fingerprints all it says is “Failed”……Unable to complete Touch ID setup. Please go back and try again.” Also, the button is much more sensitive than it was before. I need some ideas as to what is wrong and what to do to fix it. Any help is very appreciated. Thanks, Joanie PS….. I have (what I call) light shadows coming from the lower right edge of the screen. It’s extremely distracting and annoying. I don’t know if this the beginning of the end for my phone. I’m retired and I SURE AS HE** can’t afford a new one!

Thank you for this excellent video. With your video, I replaced my old 3GS battery. But it was really tough taking out and putting back those tiny screws. My battery was bloated so the plastic near the power switch was broken and the casing and PCB all warped.

The small grey bit that covers the flex cable where it connects broke. I can still get the flex cable seated and can close the door but the tape is covering it. Will that make any difference?
